My most embarrassing creative block (and what finally got me unstuck)
"I WALKED OUT OF THAT ROOM FEELING LIKE I'D FAILED. LIKE THE ONE THING I WAS KNOWN FOR - MY CREATIVITY - HAD JUST ABANDONED ME. "

I used to work as a museum curator—and one thing people loved about me back then?
I could solve a creative problem like it was nothing.
So when I walked into a high-stakes meeting with senior staff to brainstorm solutions for an upcoming project, everyone was already looking at me like:
“Alright, let’s hear whatcha got.”
Only... I had nothing.
My brain was completely blank.
The ideas that usually bubbled up with ease? Nowhere to be found.
I just sat there, frozen like Anna on the Disney movie. Mute. Embarrassed. Tense as hell.
I walked out of that room feeling like I’d failed.
Like the one thing I was known for—my creativity—had just abandoned me.
But then something wild happened.
I got back to my quiet, sun-filled office.
I breathed. I stretched. I looked out the window. I reflected.
And before I could even open my inbox, the ideas came pouring in.
I emailed the team three solid solutions within the hour.
And guess what? They picked one and ran with it.
That experience taught me so much about creative blocks:
- They’re not about laziness or lack of talent
- They’re often about pressure, overthinking, and misaligned environments
- And sometimes the best thing you can do is step away and give your brain space
If you’re in a season where your creative spark feels foggy…
If you’re trying to push through and nothing’s clicking…
Please know: it’s not that you’re failing. You might just need a little room.
What’s helped me (and now my clients) is learning how to create conditions that support creativity consistently—not just when the stars align.
That includes:
✔️ Managing my energy
✔️ Having go-to creative warmups
✔️ Knowing when to stop forcing it and step away
✔️ Actually caring for myself while I build and create
If you’re craving that kind of support in your business too—
where you don’t have to burn out to find your flow again—
I’d love to help you build it.
Here’s how I support creatives like you: [insert link to workshop, offer, or freebie]
And remember: your creativity isn’t gone.
It just needs room to breathe.
the SELF CARE REFLECTION QUESTION

Here's some helpful journal prompts that come from today's share:
Where in my creative process do I feel the most pressure to perform? What would it look like to give myself more space there?
What environments or routines help me feel safe, spacious, and creatively open? How can I bring more of those into my workday??
Take a quiet moment and write the answers as they intuitively come up. Share in the comments if this was a helpful practice ♡

the CREATIVE ENERGY FORECAST

Here's this week's insight for creative flow this week.
Let's see what's good ↓:
Week of April 13:
-
Experiencing difficulty in your creative biz? Well this week it's gwan be alright because a positive shift is unfolding. Try to open your heart to the fact that things will get better because they truly will. No planets are retrograde this week, giving you free reign to dream and take action to make it happen without worrying that something unexpected will undercut your intentions.
-
But, drama may pop off in the form of intense emotions as the moon enters Scorpio on the 13th. Stay the course & be curious. Embrace the breadth of your experience because on April 15th a lot of deep sh*t will come to the surface and this could be your opportunity to transmute that into execution of a super imaginative creative vision and release deep, repressed feelings through your work.
-
As my intuition speaks on this chilly Saturday afternoon, this week will bring some energetic grounding - a space for us to land in ourselves, get clear and steadily work towards making our creative visions happen. We'll get out of our on way and listen more intently to our mind/body/heart and follow with trust and confidence. What results will amaze us. We lowkey knew we could, but to have actually done it? That's next level sh*t.
INSIDE the STUDIO

Creative Biz & Life updates to keep you in the know.
raindance with me?
I'm writing this from the French countryside, where I damn-well know I should be basking in gratitude and Rainbow Brite-type sunbeams.
But real talk? I'm lowkey doing a raindance just so I can chill guilt-free on the sofa, watch the sky do its thing, and hang with my fam in this soft long cardigan sweater and big time snack mode.
Because even in the most beautiful places, I still need support to pause. To rest. To remember that "doing less" isn't failure--it's strategy.
That's exactly what I built The Missing Piece workshop to do. If you're craving a self-care plan that fits inside your creative life (not just on Sundays), this is it.
Grab the workshop + a bangin' self-care strategy Notion dashboard here
Then go light a candle. Or, hell, do a little raindance of your own.
